I'll try and be brief

Well firstly, this is my new favourite song:

Aaaaanyway... I've been off the blog for a while now. Work got VERY busy. I was hanging out with Chris one night and said, "I can't wait to go to work tomorrow". I was kind of shocked to hear those words come out of my mouth. The next day a bomb of a job got dropped at work so no Illustrating for Illustration Friday was happening during work hours. I didn't have internet at home for a week or so either so that kind of kept me away from blogger.

Noteworthy happenings since my last post:

I scored a free ticket to Summer Gay Day (Chris was playing Santa Claus so he hooked me up) and managed to get completely smashed on 42˚ Below vodka... I ended up shirtless on a podium dancing to DJ Sveta. It was tops.

I went to an information evening at ACAP as I'm interested in doing a course in counselling (for any of my American friends, "counselling" has 2 Ls here). I was going to apply for first term but I think I might wait until 2nd term. I plan on moving out when the lease expires in this place so I don't want to have to worry about study during that period.

I am out of my 3 month probation period at work and I feel very comfortable here. A 15yo work experience girl is with us so we have all had to watch what we say in her presence. I only now realise how much I have come to love being able to be completely politically incorrect at work.

I went to Homebake on Saturday and saw a shitload of Australian bands. I had such a fantastic day. Highlights were Blue King Brown, Architecture in Helsinki and Pnau.

Last night I went and saw The Gossip. They were pretty damned good but as I ran into people I knew leaving the venue they excitedly asked me what I thought and I said "They were pretty good". My comment was received with rolling eyes as though I had not completely understood the queer rock experience that is The Gossip.

Beth Ditto is an amazing performer, she came out all guns blazing and I wondered how she was still so "calorie enhanced" if she performed like this at all of her shows. Her voice waivered a little as she ran out of puff not much later, and towards the end of the set she said "2 more songs then we are off to the after party". I guess she is living the rock'n'roll dream at the moment so after an intense workout on stage she was going to booze it up and replace those calories she had just burned off... just an observation.

Tattoo is very healed and I LOVE it, getting it finished on Friday afternoon.
