arty farty

I've been getting all creative lately.

Currently I am working on a few things including portraits, web banners, paintings and stencils.

I got all inspired to work on stencils lately and I've been doing a bit of research online. Although I don't have all the equipment I want, that didn't stop me from decorating my new diary last night.

Not bad for a first attempt.

Praise the Lord.

"For the first time ever, there is some truth in the [reunion] rumours. We've been discussing it and it could possibly happen. I've always said, 'I don't want to do it, the past is the past. It was amazing, it was magical. We could never recreate it. But this year people have been talking about it and some of the girls have expressed an interest in doing it. There is just so much great feeling out there and I just thought, you know what, I don't want to be the person that stops it happening or stops it being a five-piece. But there have been a lot of reunions and not all of them have worked. If the Spice Girls were to get back together it would be for a very short space of time. It would be a final goodbye and a thank you to all the fans all over the world."

- Melanie C. told radio station BBC London 94.9 this week

Yay, Spicies!

Wonderful Wah-wah Weekend

Friday night I went to dinner with Jack and had some fancy cocktails at the Rose of Australia. After that we went to my place and listened to some tragic happy hardcore while i taught her to how to control the iTunes visualiser. Raving in the bedroom is still really fun.

Saturday I went shopping with Chris and got myself a little bedside table which is much nicer than my little makeshift number.

I watch a movie called "Suddenly Last Summer" with Chris. It starred Katherine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. Very fucking cool. I've never seen a movie with Elizabeth Taylor before, fuck she was hot, I'd give her one. The movie was definitely worth a look. 4.5 stars.

Today I was awoken by a bacon and egg muffin in bed made by Chris's housemate, Ben. What a lovely way to start the day. We ended up dog-sitting his ex-boyfriend's dog, which co-incidently is his ex-dog, "Wah-wah" (I don't know if that's how you spell it but that's how you say it). He's a little fox terrier and he was loads of fun. We took him to lunch with us when we ate with Reed and Justin and although he was begging and being a nuisance you couldn't help but go "awww" when he gave you those puppy dog eyes.

I went up to the Rose and caught up with Ange, Leesa and Huon for a quick coule of beers before having dinner with D, Alex and Alecky. Feeling a bit tipsy now.. just rehydrating before bed.

This song was rocking my bedroom on Friday night, http://www.zshare.net/audio/2308317c92e313/ ...fast forward to about 3:00 and stick with if for a minute or so to see the appeal. It gets "good" just before 4 minutes, but you need the build up.

Grub at the Grotta Capri

Last night Chris took me to dinner at the Grotta Capris at Kensington. Upon entering the building I thought I was going to break my ankle. A series of underground "rivers" covered by thick clear perspex weave there way between tables and chairs. After the initial shock I looked around to see what can only be described as bizarre decor which can be seen in scenes from "Muriel's Wedding" as well as other movies and TV shows.

We were shown to a table and we sat there with smiles on our faces as we admired the absurdity of the decoration. 3 tonnes of shells were cemented to the walls, "stalacites" covered with fairy lights hung from the ceiling, fishtanks were built into the "cave" walls and murals of deep sea and beach scenes.

The menu was mainly seafood and all gourmat Italian style. We decided to have 2 entrées each and share a dozen oysters. The oysters were enormous and tasty. The octopus was the best I had ever had. The coconut prawns were like a cross between deep fried icecream and prawn cocktails. Dessert was choc full of calories and so worth it.

I could not fault the food and although I was full when I left, nothing was too heavy or rich. I'll definitely be heading back there, but next time I'll go on a Friday or Saturday night when its busier and they have live music etc.

5 stars.

Best laid plans...

Things I had planned to do and didn't:

•Go to Dirty @ Phoenix
•Go to "You Little Stripper"
•Buy/look at computer chairs
•Have brekkie with Mitchum
•Have lunch with Chris

Things I hadn't planned to do that I did:

•Import all of my CDs into iTunes
•Eat pizza and watch Spongebob with Jackie
•Cook Mitchum dinner (and wash it down with lots of wine)
•Work out how to extract sound from DVDs and save as MP3

I really can't wait until next weekend where I hope to leave the house for more than buying groceries or going to the medical centre.

a Terrific Tuesday Tale...

I pulled my headphones from my ears as I opened the door, caffeine pumping through my veins. I greeted my workmates; "Good Morning".

"Hi, Tim" they groaned.

"Yay!" I proclaimed.

They laughed. Today is going to be a great day.

:D

Kahuna

Tonight I am going to receive my first Kahuna massage. I haven't had a massage for aaaaages and I'm really looking forward to it. I've been a bit off-centre lately. Losing things, forgetting things, loss of direction and generally walking around in a daze. I'm hoping the experience will help me snap out of it.

I found this on the Kahuna Australia Website and thought it was nice.

Long ago, an old Native American grandfather told his grandson, "There are two wolves fighting inside all of us constantly - the wolf of fear and hate, and the wolf of love and peace." The grandson looked up at his grandfather and asked, "Which one will win?" The grandfather replied, "The one we feed."
